I'm a qualified teacher with over 10 years of post-primary teaching experience, specialising in Mathematics and Science education. Throughout my career, I've taught students of all abilities and backgrounds, from Junior Cycle right through to Leaving Certificate and I've seen first-hand the difference that high-quality teaching and personalised support can make.
Top Tier Teaching was created from a simple belief: every student deserves access to expert teaching, clear explanations and a learning environment where they feel supported, valued and capable of success.
Over the years, I saw many students struggling with Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology—not because they lacked ability, but because they hadn't yet found an approach that worked for them. Too often, students left classes with pages of notes but little real understanding. I wanted to create something different: a learning experience that prioritises understanding, confidence and meaningful progress.
That's why Top Tier Teaching focuses on small-group tuition, expert instruction and personalised support. My aim is not simply to help students pass exams; it's to help them develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to achieve their full potential and to achieve top tier results.
My Approach to Teaching
A student is far more than someone preparing for an exam.
Every student has unique strengths, challenges, ambitions and ways of learning. That's why I place the student—not the syllabus—at the centre of everything I do.
I believe learning thrives in a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and challenging themselves. Genuine understanding develops when students are actively engaged in the learning process, not simply copying notes from a screen.
My classes are designed to be inclusive, accessible and focused on understanding. Rather than overwhelming students with information, I break complex concepts into manageable steps, helping students build confidence and mastery over time.

Many grinds programmes leave students with pages of notes and hours of work to complete afterwards. My approach is different. Learning should happen during the class. Every class is carefully designed so that students actively engage with the material, develop understanding and leave with greater confidence than when they arrived.
There is no unnecessary complexity, no time-wasting and no information overload—just expert teaching, proven learning strategies and the exam techniques students need to perform at their best.
